April School Holiday Clinics

WDNA will be holding a School Holiday Players Clinic in April 2021.  Featuring NetSetGo Clinics for players born from January 1st 2011 to December 31st 2014 on Monday 12 April and Tuesday 13 April then 11 to 15 year olds on Wednesday 14 April and Thursday 15 April 2021.  The clinics will be for players registered with clubs at WDNA (please register players in the age group they are playing in with their team for Winter 2021).

The Program will run on the following days:

NSG (Jan 2011 to Dec 2014) – Day 1 – Monday 12th April 8.30am to 12.30pm

Players will receive coaching in the essential skills of ball handling, footwork, general attacking and general defending.

(Jan 2011 to Dec 2014) – Day 2 – Tuesday 13th April 8.30am to 12.30pm

Groups will play a series of matches against other groups in the same age division to put the skills learnt on Tuesday into practice.  Umpires will be provided by the Umpire Development Squad.

11 to 15 year olds – Wednesday 14th April 8.30am to 12.30pm

What’s Involved

COST:$60 (non refundable)                     

PROGRAM: Day one will involve players learning netball specific skills including ball work, shooting, foot work, attacking and defence.  Day two is a round robin competition where teams will get the chance to practice the skills they have learnt in supervised match play.

Players will be sorted into groups on the morning of the clinic. We ensure to put friends/team mates together.

What You Need

WHAT TO WEAR: Shorts/sports skirt and T-shirt.

WHAT TO BRING: Players are requested to bring a Hat / Sunscreen / Wet weather clothing (if applicable). Please also bring 2 water bottles and a snack for morning tea. Players are not to share food, please refrain from bringing any food with nuts!

For Safety Purposes – players are not to wear jewellery and fingernails are to be short as per normal match requirements please.

WDNA is proud to be supporting No Limits Netball. This program is a fantastic opportunity for participants with an intellectual or physical disability aged 11 and over to engage with the sport of netball, meet new friends and play in a safe environment as part of a team. For the past 2 years WDNA has had a No Limits Netball team play at the Smarter than Smoking Association Championships, playing against other associations over the June long weekend.

What’s Involved

Weekly training sessions at WDNA in the lead up to the Association Championships. WDNA will have 1 or more teams compete against other associations, putting skills practised over the training sessions, into match play over the June long weekend. 

What you need

WHAT TO WEAR: Shorts/leggings/sports skirt and T-shirt.

WHAT TO BRING: Players are requested to bring a  hats/sunscreen or wet weather gear (if applicable). Please also bring 2 water bottles
