The TACT program was implemented in 2010/11 as the Association’s development pathway to assist with player and coach progression within the Netball WA pathway.  Players turning 12 to 15  (in the following year) will be invited to attend selection trials, which will be extremely competitive, for placements into the program.  Players successful in being selected to the program will have the opportunity to then be selected for the Association Representative teams that will compete at the Netball Western Australia Association Championships held over the June long weekend.

From 2014, Sue Gaudion (High Performance coach at International level) has been the lead mentor within the program and from 2016 was joined by Lyn Pemberton (High Performance coach at National level) to oversee the development of the Association program.  All coaches successful in being selected to be involved in the TACT program will be assisted with working their way through the Coach Accreditation pathway and  will, in turn, use this knowledge to develop the Association talented athletes.

There will be greater emphasis on “quality” of the skills and strategies taught to the squad and a higher expectation that the chosen athletes will be able to produce these quality skills consistently. Information has also been forwarded to all club contacts to pass on to their members.
