2018 Beginner Coaching Courses

ALL coaches of players under 13 who wish to coach at WDNA MUST produce evidence of current coaching Netball Australia coaching accreditation prior to the commencement of the winter season. Coaches who are unable to provide this must complete the WDNA Beginner Coaching Course appropriate to the age level they are coaching.

This course is provided at a cost of $11.00, to be paid on the night. Course dates available:

Net Set Go (5 & 6 year olds) Friday May 4 – 4pm to 5.30pm

Net Set Go (7 – 11 year olds) – Tuesday February 13 – 6.00pm to 7.30pm

Juniors (12 – 14 year olds) Wednesday February 21 – 6.00pm to 7.30pm

Seniors (15 – Open) Wednesday February 28 – 6.00pm to 7.30pm

Registrations will open on Monday January 22, 2018 and close on Thursday February 8, 2018. No late registrations will be accepted.

2018 APRIL SCHOOL HOLIDAY CLINIC

WDNA will be holding its School Holiday Players Clinics on Wednesday 18 April and Thursday 19 April, 2018.  The Clinics will be for players registered with clubs at WDNA in 7/8s, 8/9s, 10 & U and 11 & U age groups (please register players in the age group they are playing in with their team for Winter 2018).

Program for the 2 days will be as follows:

Day 1 – Wednesday 18 April 8.30am to 12.30pm

Players will receive coaching in the essential skills of ball handling, footwork, general attacking and general defending.

Day 2 – Thursday 19 April 8.30am to 12.30pm

Groups will play a series of matches against other groups in the same age division to put the skills learnt on Wednesday into practice.  Umpires will be provided by the Umpire Development Squad.

 

COST: $60

ELIGIBILITY: Players born between 1 January 2006 and 31 December 2010.

PROGRAM: Skill Development, Match Play and Friendship.

REGISTRATION: Open February 23, 2018. All registered players will receive a reminder email the week prior to clinic.

APPLICATIONS CLOSE: March 20, 2018.

WHAT TO WEAR: Shorts/sports skirt and top.

WHAT TO BRING: Players are requested to bring a Hat / Sun screen / Wet weather clothing (if applicable)/refreshments (at least 2 drink bottles and morning
tea snacks).

For Safety Purposes – players are not to wear jewellery and fingernails are to be short as per normal match requirements please.

We will also be running holiday clinics on July 11 & 12 and October 3 & 4. Further information will be available closer to the dates of the clinic.

TALL TIMBERS 2018

WDNA is running a ‘Tall Timbers’ program for players aged 13 -15 years old. This program is designed to improve footwork, balance, coordination, speed and strength.

Sessions will run from 4pm – 5pm. Dates will be as follows:

Monday 27 August 2018

Monday 3 September 2018

Monday 10 September

Monday 17 September

If you’re turning 13/14 year olds – 175cm or taller or 15 year olds – 180cm or taller, you can register via my netball.

Registrations will open July 2, 2018 and close August 17, 1028. Places are limited.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS 2018

We are running the Essential Skills Development Program again during our Spring Season for players aged 10yrs to 12yrs as at 31 December 2017 (born 2006, 2007 or 2008) interested in improving their essential basic skills. Sessions include footwork/ball handling, attacking and defending. Cost of the program will be $50 per player.  Sessions will run from 5.30pm to 7pm.  Dates will be as follows:

Monday 8 October 2018
Monday 15 October 2018
Monday 22 October 2018
Monday 29 November 2018

Registrations will open August 20, 2018.
